This is a 6 session class: Sundays October 11th - November 15th (11am - 3pm)
Join us for this likely one-time-only course, where we’ll explore an introduction to woodworking and instrument building by constructing a gourd banjo!
We will explore the balance between organic forms and the precision of lutherie, working with the natural curves and character of the gourd while learning the careful lines, measurements, and craftsmanship required to create a playable instrument.
Through hands-on construction, students will develop an understanding of how these elements come together in the making of a gourd banjo.
This is a unique opportunity to learn the fundamentals of instrument building while making something you can actually play!
