who are we

The Sticks is a community woodshop located in Chicago’s Fulton Market District featuring five private studios, membership-based access, and an extensive education program. Recently renovated, our 5,000 sqft light-filled studio is customized to house our wide range of high-end woodworking equipment.

Take stairs to third floor.

Enter into third floor.

Locate the first door on the right.

Enter into the Sticks!

meet the owner

Fick is the founder and caretaker of The Sticks, a community woodshop built on curiosity, care, and a love of machines. Fick is passionate about keeping the space running smoothly, not just the machines, but the systems and relationships that make a shared shop work.

Fick is also an artist and furniture maker who focuses on anything chunky, carved or bent.
